Nairobi residents have several group runs and walks lined up across city parks and forests in July.

Three organised fitness events will draw participants to Karura Forest and Uhuru Park over the next fortnight.
City residents have shown steady interest in group exercise since early 2025, when trail use at Karura Forest rose by 18 percent compared with the previous year. The trend aligns with Kenya's established running culture and the practical need for affordable outdoor activity in a dense urban setting.
The Nairobi Trail Runners group will host a 10-kilometre fun run on 18 July starting at the Karura Forest main gate on Limuru Road. Entry costs 1,200 Kenyan shillings and covers a marked course through the indigenous forest section. On 22 July the Aga Khan Hospital wellness programme will lead a 5-kilometre charity walk beginning at Uhuru Park's central lawn near City Square. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and finishes at the hospital's outpatient block on 3rd Parklands Avenue. Both events include water stations and basic first-aid teams.
Last July the same Karura route recorded 1,450 finishers according to the event timing chip provider. Average entry fees across Nairobi group runs this season sit between 800 and 1,500 Kenyan shillings, with proceeds from the charity walk earmarked for community cardiac screening at the hospital. Participants are advised to arrive 30 minutes early and carry identification.
Registration for both events can be completed online through the organisers' sites or at the respective venue gates on the morning of each activity. Those new to group runs should start at the shorter distances offered and follow the pace groups posted at the start line.
